The first day of Oil & Gas Africa 2017 opened yesterday welcoming hundreds of visitors to the expo at the Cape Town International Conference Centre.
Exhibitors from across the country and around the world were upbeat as the day progressed with some signing new deals and most happy that they were linking up with the right clients.

Alongside the first day of the Oil & Gas Conference got underway and despite dti director Kisham Pillay dropping out at short notice, Dave van Der Spuy of the Petroleum Agency SA opened with his keynote address with oil & gas as the region’s new economic frontier.
He set the tone for a strong first conference day with Lizel Oberholzer, Director, Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa, looking at new MPRDA regulation and Laura Peinke, Executive: Business Development, Saldanha Bay IDZ Licencing Company SOC Ltd, stepping in to talk about poil & gas in maritime.
The much anticipated Tetra4 case study gave a unqiue insight into South Africa’s sole onshore gas producer with Nick Mitchell, COO of Renergen.
“It’s been a good first day and we’re looking forward to the next two,” said Brad Hook, Commercial Director for confex organiser dmg ems Africa.
“This remains a key networking event and we have some amazing exhibitors as well as a strong speaker line up tomorrow."
